mission

The rule of participation also pervades our philosophy of missions. Besides giving money to missionaries and relief groups, we are challenged to contribute our bodies and time, both abroad and in our own backyard.

House gatherings and barbeques are a part of our culture, and to us they are the key entryway for people to see the gospel lived out. We encourage you to invite a friend to a church barbeque or to your home for dinner.

The Vine is a global congregation, not an American island dishing itself all the latest consumer goods. We particpate in missions worldwide through our association with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Simply by attending a CMA church you are automatically participating in the worldwide mission of Christ.

We challenge each member to commit to making a short-term missions trip in their lifetime. Such trips support missions efforts around the world and feed the Vine's global imagination.

We encourage one another to sponsor a child through Compassion International, a powerful, practical way to look after “the least of these.”

We regularly hear reports of what God is doing around the world. But once a year we hold a big dinner to celebrate it all. We listen to stories, affirm and send out missionaries, and challenge ourselves to pray for and support God’s work of salvation around the world.
