The early pagans complained that Christians cared not only for their own poor but for the pagan poor as well. That's the kind of "nuisance" we want to be in the world, not only because the prophets threatened destruction on those who oppress the poor but because Jesus spent most of time with them, blessing the weak with food, healing, and truth.

The JUSTICE & MERCY TEAM wants to provide fellow Viners with goods and skills, without the exchange of money.

Also, we want to uncover places in the neighboring suburbs where the poor need help and then communicate these to our church family.

Further, we want to raise awareness of large-scale injustices in the food, clothes, goods, and investments we buy into.

A SOUP KITCHEN in Albany Park lets us provide meals and conversation to the homeless there, who prove to be just as hospitable to us.
