justice

One body, one loaf, one cup. Gathered around the table of our Lord, we share both joys and burdens. We are stewards, not owners, of our finances. Therefore we pledge to support each other through times of impoverishment and victimization.

From the Communion Table our gifts flow into the benevolent fund, designed to meet the special physical needs of the congregation. An outgrowth of our unity in Christ, the Justice-Mercy Team discerns how these funds will be used.

The justice and mercy of Jesus Christ is extended to those outside our church as well. We seek to help the homeless, uplift the poor, employ the unemployed, and offer forgiveness and reconciliation to the imprisoned.

We make regular visits to a brother-sister soup kitchen in Albany Park.
